Frequently Asked Questions ♦ Is there any benefit to taking CREAKONG ™ on days when I don't exercise? To maximize the effectiveness of MUTANT® CREAKONG ™ on non-workout days, take one scoop at any time, such as mixing it with your morning or afternoon protein shake. Taking it on rest days can help speed up muscle recovery and reduce muscle soreness and fatigue, ultimately helping you build muscle faster. ♦ Is it necessary to take CREAKONG ™ in a loaded form? You don't need to "load" or do "loading periods" when using creatine. The primary purpose of using creatine is to increase the body's creatine reserves (in the form of phosphocreatine, or PC) so that when the body needs more PC, it will be readily available! Studies from 20 years ago showed that loading periods (15-20 grams per day for 7 days) increased PC levels faster than not loading. But 20 years later, we know that just consuming 3-5 grams of phosphocreatine per day is enough to increase levels. Therefore, as long as you consume 3-5 grams per day (and CREAKONG™ provides a suitable amount of 4 grams), loading isn't necessary. If you want to load, you can – but don't exceed 15-20 grams per day and for no more than 7 days. ♦ For athletes, will taking creatine increase the risk of doping or drug detection? Using creatine in sports will not result in a doping test because creatine is not a narcotic and is not a banned substance for use in competitive sports. It is not listed on the list of prohibited substances in sports by organizations such as WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency). Using creatine is considered a safe dietary supplement and is not considered the use of a banned substance. ♦ Is creatine a steroid ? Definitely not, but some people might still misunderstand and think it's a steroid – because among the supplements that have been tested and are popularly used by professional athletes to help increase power and muscle size, creatine is considered the most trusted supplement by professional athletes. ♦ Does creatine cause kidney abnormalities ? Taking creatine in the recommended amount and for the appropriate duration does not cause kidney dysfunction in healthy individuals. Numerous studies confirm that creatine supplementation in the recommended dose (approximately 3-5 grams per day) does not negatively affect kidney function and does not cause kidney abnormalities in those without pre-existing kidney health conditions. Several research studies, including that of Antonio et al. (2021), cited in multiple sources, have shown that creatine does not cause kidney damage when taken in appropriate amounts and without underlying kidney-related health problems. However, if you have any medical conditions related to your kidneys, you should consult your doctor before using creatine. Antonio et al.; JISSN: Article 13 (2021), 8 February 2021 ♦ Does creatine cause hair loss or baldness ? Creatine use does not cause hair loss or baldness. Based on the same 2021 study and current research, there is no clear evidence that creatine supplementation causes hair loss or baldness. ♦ Does creatine cause dehydration and muscle cramps ? Using creatine does not cause dehydration or muscle cramps when taken in the recommended dosage and with sufficient water intake. Drinking more water helps creatine work optimally and reduces the risk of cramps or dehydration. This misconception has been debunked numerous times. A 2021 study previously stated that “…research has not confirmed that creatine supplementation causes dehydration and muscle cramps.” Antonio et al.; JISSN: Article 13 (2021), 8 February 2021 ♦ Is creatine dangerous for children and adolescents ? Although creatine is recommended for adults only, a 2021 study concluded, “Based on limited evidence, creatine supplementation appears to be safe and potentially beneficial for children and adolescents.” Furthermore, most research on creatine in children and adolescents focuses on those with special needs, such as adolescent athletes or those undergoing rigorous training. General use of creatine in children is not yet recommended. Antonio et al.; JISSN: Article 13 (2021), 8 February 2021 ♦ Does creatine cause body fat gain ? Taking creatine doesn't cause fat gain, but consuming more calories than you burn will. ♦ Is creatine only for men? Can women use it too ? Absolutely not! Both men and women can use creatine, but if you are a woman who is pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, you should consult your doctor before using creatine or any supplements. ♦ Is creatine stable ? Creatine in powder form is considered stable, but you need to be wary of creatine sold in liquid or jelly forms. Liquid creatine has long been proven unstable and is actually banned in some countries, such as Canada. Stability can be measured by testing for a creatine metabolite called creatinine, which forms when creatine begins to 'degrade'. Jelly is a product manufactured in high-humidity environments, and the production process of jelly causes creatine to degrade. If the test finds creatinine levels exceeding 100 ppm, then jelly is a form of creatine that should be avoided.
